Sentinel Music Archives

In November 2018, a group of concerned individuals were delighted to be able to raise a bid at auction and group-fund the purchase of the Sentinel Records Music Tapes, with a view to digitising the tapes and making them available to any interested parties, via the Kresen Kernow Archive Centre when it opens in Redruth.

Following the purchase of a Revox tape deck suitable for working with 10" reels, and many hours of voluntary work from technician Richard Prest, and recording engineer and archivist Mic McCreadie, this digitisation is now complete. This has been made possible with a successful grant application from the Cornwall Heritage Trust, to whom we are very grateful. The full database of digitised tapes will be available soon...

In the meantime, I privately purchased the remaining supply of Sentinel cassettes and LPs, covering a wide range of local and other musicians, groups, and bands, recorded by Job Morris at Sentinel throughout the 1970s-80s. What I have is being made available here... just click on the Sentinel Music filter on the shop page.

UPDATE: All remaining Sentinel cassettes have now been taken over by the Youtube channel Kernow Keur, and will soon by appearing there, where they will be available for anyone to listen to and copy.
